Policy initiatives :

Conatura provides government officials, specialists, and stakeholders with technical analysis of legislation, especially as it pertains to conservation.  We are currently preparing a thorough report on the the new Supreme Decree signed in February, 2004, which we will publish on this website.

In May of 2004, the U.S. Fish Wildlife Service will conduct a two-year evaluation of vicuña management in Peru.  Opinions from stakeholders, experts in the fields of conservation, law, anthropology are welcome as they produce their final report.  The U.S. Fish and Wildlife service needs informed opinions. Conatura also welcomes opeinions from experts and stakeholders as we continue to collect data on the effects of the latest legislation.  As we receive reports and opinions from Andean communities, with their permission, we will publish them to this site.   We  also ask that you contact us if you have legal, economic, anthropological, and biological expertise with regards to the current legislation.
